The national network agency announced to decrease the price for a call to 0137 and to 0180 numbers from the mobile network significantly.
The aim is to standardize call rates from fixed and mobile networks. Until now, there was a considerable difference in price whether such numbers were called from the landline network or the mobile network.
For example, up to now a call to 0180-3 numbers from the landline network cost 9 ct/min, from the mobile network usually 42 ct/min.
The plan is to fix the landline-network prices of these numbers for mobile communications as well, so that this will be the maximum limit for all mobile carriers. This will also simplify the price indication, which has been rather complicated up to now (“…from the fixed network 9 ct/min, from mobile networks max. 42 ct/min”).
In the future, the price information for 0180-3 could then be, for example: “…9 ct/min from all German networks”.
